Durham, N.C. — The Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) Board of Delegates unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget at their May 28th meeting. The adopted budget totals $36,359,099, with the membership dues rate remaining unchanged. The budget reflects a clear and strategic financial plan to guide the organization through changing federal funding dynamics while maintaining high-quality service delivery across the region.

CPRC continues to see record demand from local governments for technical assistance requests—ranging from strategic planning and code enforcement to affordable housing inventories and finance administration. It reflects a growing recognition that regional partnerships, and Central Pines staff, can help communities solve shared problems more efficiently, build long-term capacity, and make the most of every public dollar. This work will be essential in the new budget year as our region navigates changes at the federal level.

The adopted budget outlines investments aligned with CPRC’s strategic focus areas: aging and human services, community and economic development, environment and resilience, housing, member support and strategy, and mobility and transportation. It also strengthens internal operations, including funding for a new financial management system and a key leadership restructuring that elevates the Assistant Executive Director to Deputy Executive Director. This new role will oversee Aging and Transportation programs and manage the liaison relationship with the Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization.

"The FY25-26 budget demonstrates our dedication to serving our communities with thoughtful, strategic resource management," said Lee Worsley, Executive Director. "We are committed to ensuring that every dollar spent supports meaningful outcomes for our local governments and residents."
